Nivea Lip Butter Caramel Cream

If it were food I'd eat it

I picked this up on a whim at Boots as part of a 3 for 2 deal. There were several types available but the Caramel Cream called out to me. The scent I suppose is true to what it states but....I think it smells like Cap'n Crunch cereal. My absolute favorite cereal in the whole wide world. I'd eat it morning, noon, and night if it didn't destroy the roof of my mouth every time I'd eat it. (Does anyone else have this problem?) Read on if you'd like my full review of this product :)

Nivea In-Shower Moisturizer

Is it Worth it?

I was excited when I saw the ad for this. I thought to myself, "I'm too lazy to apply real lotion after showers, could this be the solution to all my laziness?" I bought it half off and was eager to find out. Read on to see what the verdict is :)

Jo Malone Vitamin E Body Treatment Scrub & Fragrances

If I could afford it, I'd be swimming in it...

Jo Malone is definitely a luxury brand. I myself can't afford it but I was lucky enough to get few items for Christmas from my aunt. She swims in luxury and I often benefit from it, surprisingly so. What I have here is Jo Malone's Vitamin E Body Treatment Scrub and two of their sample size colognes: Nectarine Blossom & Honey and Wild Bluebell

Stationery Haul Pt. 2

I went insane, yet again...

I bought more stationery although I have more than enough. I like to pretend I have a purpose/use for each and everything I buy and eventually I do...but let's get real. I still have notebooks, journals, spirals, fancy random stationery from 10 years ago. Vain hopes...vain hopes... maybe I'll handwrite a novel, a book of poems, a screenplay, sketch things....or when the world ends I guess I could carry them around and use them when toilet paper runs out. But then again some things are just too pretty to be tarnished. I really need to just let go...But until I'm ready here are my latest purchases which were all on sale :)

Firmoo Glasses

Great Quality Eyewear :)

I finally got my glasses from Firmoo. The fedex man beat down my door making me drag myself outta bed in an oversized Nirvana shirt, disheveled hair, and probably a bit cross eyed because I wasn't wearing those things that make me see. As I scribbled my barely legible signature on his electronic pad, he handed me the package and I swear I heard him snicker as he walked away (but surely he's seen worse??) I didn't care because I was about to see what these Firmoo glasses were all about. I sat down and it took me about 15 minutes to open the package in my zombie-like state. I took the scissors and made a beautiful mess. Anyway...the glasses...

The glasses came in a quality hard case and were accompanied by a cleansing cloth and a small repair kit. In the past I've had glasses that I've ordered online to feel very stiff and awkward. It was as if the slightest movement provoked the possibility of them snapping. I've also had problems with glasses simply not fitting on my face, usually too big although I did everything necessary to make sure I put down the right measurements on the order form. These are the first pair of glasses I've ordered online that I honestly have no complaints about. They fit very well on my face, don't slide off or anything, and they just feel as if they were well made in generally. I'm not afraid they're going to break with the smallest movement. The retail value of this pair is $39 but since I was a first time customer they were free and all I had to pay was the shipping which was very reasonable since they were shipped from China and made it here within a week of ordering. I'm very pleased and I encourage anyone willing to buy glasses online to give Firmoo (link) a shot!

Advertisements on the Blog: W2Beauty and Firmoo

Hola to everyone!

I just wanted to point out that I have added two advertisements to the blog that can be found at the bottom left of the blog. They look like this:

The first is for W2Beauty, an online Korean Beauty/Cosmetics store. I've bought a few items from this shop and the customer service is great, they have the most brands available compared to other Korean Cosmetic online shops, and the shipping costs are solid. You'll most likely have to pay between 2 and 3 dollars/euro. You can find my review of products from this shop here.

The second ad is for an online glasses shop, Firmoo, I recently purchased some glasses from here. The best thing is if you are purchasing for the first time you can choose from a decent selection of glasses and get them for free. All you pay for is shipping. And by glasses I mean, you can get single lens prescription glasses as well. I haven't received the glasses yet but should within a couple of days. I originally heard about Firmoo from a fellow blogger's post which you can find here. Betzy has a really great blog so I recommend you check it out. On a side-note, I have purchased from online glasses shops before, Zenni Optical and Coastal.com. Zenni has very very cheap glasses and is also very hit and miss, definitely a case of you get what you pay for. Coastal, I've bought one pair and they were great. Now we'll see how Firmoo goes. I'll post about them when I get them!

Juicy Couture Perfume (Viva La Fleur and La La Couture)

I absolutely love Juicy Couture perfumes. I've never re-bought any perfume before and quite frankly before buying any Juicy Couture perfumes, I never really wore perfume. I might have sprayed on a few samples here and there but never invested in full sized bottles. I originally bought Viva La Juicy back in December and tried to make it last as long as possible until the the day finally came where it sprayed no more. Very sad day. I debated whether or not I should buy another bottle of Viva La Juicy or try something new. I decided to buy a gift box of a full sized bottled of Viva La Juicy La Fleur and a portable rollerball that contained both La Fleur and the originally Viva La Juicy. I also splurged on another full sized bottle of La La Couture. Read on if you want to know what I think :)

We Can't Stop

My Conflicted Relationship with Miley Cyrus and her New Hit

I generally don't go out of my way to concern myself with Miley Cyrus anything. She just isn't usually on my radar. But I kept getting accosted by other blogs and websites about this particular song/video. Apparently it all boils down to race and cultural/racial appropriation. Statements like, "I want something that sounds black," does not help Miley's case. But then again I don't think she's going out of her way to offend, and she just wants to have fun and pull off an image she deems edgy and cool. In this world I never know what's crossing the line and what's just daring and amazing and it seems most people don't know and don't know where to toss Miley. Aside from "cultural appropriation" (and yeah I think she does only use the black women in her video as props) I'm conflicted by her oozing of sex and general lackadaisical attitude. Just seems to provide more fuel to the "rape culture" we seem to support more and more day by day.

All criticism aside though, the song is catchy and although I feel like I want to take a hot shower after seeing her video, I can't get the damn song outta my head. Do I like Miley Cyrus, not particularly, but I also think she's just doing her thing and whenever anybody just does their "thing" they get shit for it. Doesn't seem to phase her. So I'll roll with this one.

What do you think?

Stoker

CRAZY LOOKS GOOD ON HER

I watched Stoker a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to see it when it came out in theaters but I'm guessing due to its low sales it got booted out within 2 weeks at my local theater. I didn't know what to expect when I decided to watch it. Honestly, I was nervous because I had read so many mixed reviews, more like confused reviews. People didn't know what to think or how to take it. But I did, and I took it just fine, with a spoonful of sugar. Continue reading if you'd like to know the rundown of Stoker :)

Argan 5 Ultra Rich Body Butter and Precious Oil Elixir Review

I probably own or at least have purchased more than enough lotions, body butters, and moisturizers in some other form this year so far...and it's especially ridiculous because usually I'm far too lazy to actually use any of them on a daily basis. They are lucky to be touched once a month if that. I mean...I try to use some form of moisturizer after every shower but usually I'm in a rush, don't feel like waiting for it to absorb or simply don't feel like feeling sticky (as we know some lotions tend to do). I'm very picky about what I put on my skin and I'm always looking for that one product that doesn't let me down in any kind of way. I personally hate anything that doesn't absorb quickly. I don't like walking around feeling like I've just walked into Houston humidity when I live in Ireland. Those who've been to or live in Houston, Texas will understand what I mean. (Hell, really that goes for anywhere in the South in the summer.) Anyway, I came across these two beauties not too long ago : Argan 5 Ultra-Rich Body Butter and Precious Oil Elixir.

L'Oreal Color Riche Nail Polish

From Left to Right:( Banana Pop, Wasabi Hint, Flashing Lilac, and Acid Watermelon) These are part of the NEON POP! Collection although I wouldn't call them neon just summery

I should seriously be banned from buying nail polish. I've been living in Ireland for 2 years and I would not be surprised if I have over 100 different nail polishes. And often I find myself sifting through 10 reds, 6 purples, several blue-green shades and so on. Why the hell do I have so many reds and pinks? I tell myself that there is always a slight difference in color of each red, it's not just red it's fire truck red, or boudoir red, or I say I'm red but I'm really orange. There is a difference and some are better in summer and others in winter or at least these are the things I tell myself to justify my addiction. Nevermind my addiction onto the review of L'Oreal's Color Riche Nail Polish

Items I picked up in Belfast

I picked up a few frivolous items when I was in Belfast nearly a month ago. I suppose the most silly was the strawberry scented Denman hairbrush. But I couldn't help myself and it's a damn fine brush. I love brushing my hair with this brush. I can't smell anything when I brush my hair :( but it's sturdy and the teeth in it feel good against my scalp. It's a shame to think that I have to go hide away in a dark corner sniffing a brush. The brush is kind of pointless but fun. Here are the other items:

Korean Products from W2Beauty

Some Wonderful Products Purchased From W2Beauty

I recently purchased a primer (goodbye Pore Ever) and toner (Wonder Pore) by Etude House and a "gloss bar" (tinted lip balm) by Tony Moly. Read on to see my review!

The Bling Ring: How a Gang of Fame-Obsessed Teens Ripped Off Hollywood and Shocked the World

I just don't get some people or their parents... All I know is my mama would probably knock the shit outta me if I even dreamed of doing what these kids did. But (not in the perpetrators defense whatsoever) who the hell doesn't lock their doors?

I picked this book up on a whim as I've been dying to see Sofia Coppola's movie about the "Bling Ring" which comes out July 5th (at least here in Ireland).

Stationery Haul

What the hell is wrong with me?

I bought a load of stationery about a month ago from  http://www.kawaiidepot.com in hopes of turning an old school form of communication cool again. I love getting mail, especially mail that isn't a bill. And it's always a plus when I get mail on cool stationery. I have only one aunt who continues to write me old school style and I feel I should start doing the same. I would have bought the whole shop if I had endless amounts of money and wouldn't have felt silly doing so. Anyway check it out. The first picture is of themed letter sets and the other is of memo pads, one of them a die cut memo pad, very girly but irresistible. If you love stationery, especially kawaii stationery then the kawaii depot is the place to go. The prices are reasonable and the range is pretty amazing. :)
