Maybelline's Shocking Coral and Master Drama Chromatics Khol Eyeliner

A few colorful things to add to your collection...

I came across these items at Boots not too long ago. I'm aware that the Maybelline lipstick in Shocking Coral is a very popular choice. I've read so many reviews on this singular lipstick, so I figured this has to be a winner. Honestly, I only bought the lipstick because there was a 3 for 2 deal on at Boots. It was between the lipstick and the new Color Shock mascara (that is suppose to be paired with the Master Drama Chromatics Khol Eyeliner). Although I was very tempted to get the mascara I realized that I wouldn't get the use out of the mascara like I would with the lipstick. So maybe another day...Anyway on to the review!

Maybelline Sensational Vivids Lipcolor in Shocking Coral:

This is my first time trying out a lipstick from this line. I've heard great things and anyone who wears it seems to have fabulous looking lips. I'm generally more attracted to muted brown-pinks, something more neutral. But I venture into the bright pinks and a few oranges here and there. As with any lipstick or tinted balm I recommend you exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying for the best results. The lipstick is kind of thicker and slightly "sticky", it just feels heavier than other lipsticks I use. This isn't a bad thing whatsoever, just different for me. It's highly pigmented and bright. It's almost too bright for me, but not terrible by any means. It is a gorgeous color. I just don't think it suits me as well as it would other skin tones. Overall, I'd buy from this range again because I quite like the texture of the lipstick itself and the color lasts a good while. My lips didn't dry out or anything.

Master Drama Chromatics Khol Eyeliner:

I'm a sucker for highly pigmented color eyeliners. Especially anything purple (it's my favorite color). I have quite a few color eyeliners and have been disappointed by most of them. They look great, look like they'll be highly pigmented, you have this excitement boiling inside you, and then you apply it and wanna cry...the damn thing just looks sheer or pale not rich. But these do not disappoint! These are fantastic. As you can see from the swatches they stay pretty close to the color they are suppose to be. What you see is what you get. They also glide on easily and last a long time. I can wear them all day long and there will be no smudging or fading. I was really pleased with this purchase. They're a fun alternative if you're looking to make your world more colorful.

  2. Have you come across any eyeliner pencils that you dont have to sharpen? When I am in a hurry and I want to throw some eyeliner on, the tip is always dull. I just wish I could do without the sharpener and use one of those rotating eyeliner pencils, but I dont think their color is as sharp ... ??

    1. Well, if you want to use a pencil and want a sharp tip as far as I know you'll just have to stick to sharpening. I've come across some of the "twist" pencils, very basic ones from CoverGirl and Neutrogena. Even if the tip wasn't sharp/couldn't be sharpened I always like the result. I remember them both being very creamy too so they just glided on. The only other suggestion I have is liquid eyeliner. That's usually what I use. Have since high school (as you know!). N.Y.C. (new york color) black eyeliner liquid (about 2 bucks) is my absolute favorite. It glides on easy, very dark, and the tip is very very fine. More like a mini-paintbrush (which i find easier to apply than the felt tip pen types).
